Theresa “Terry” (Plante) Hilton, 90, of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Terry was born in Carmel, New York on March 22, 1934, to the late Arthur and Alice (Guillemette) Plante, and settled in Sanford where she was raised. She married Warren Hilton on March 31,1951 and together they raised four children. Terry worked in a leather mill, for a local grocer, and at Sprague Electric. An active member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sanford, Terry’s service would eventually bring her to becoming Worthy Grand Matron. In retirement Terry and Warren enjoyed extensive travels throughout Europe, as well as adventuring in their fifth-wheel camper around the United States. They eventually split their time seasonally, spending their summers in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Newland, North Carolina, and warm winters in Brooksville, Florida. Terry is survived by two sisters, Lucille (Plante) Hilton and Pauline (Dana) Barr of Sanford, Maine; four children, Robert (Connie) Hilton of Sanford, Maine, Barbara (Dana) Moulton of Kittery, Maine, Nancy (Kevin) Newcomb of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Patti (Mark) Binette Cape Coral, Florida and three grandchildren. She is predeceased by five siblings, Ovila Plante, Liza Hanson, Mathilda Martel, Joseph Plante and Jean Fournier, as well as two grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 22 from 4-7 pm with a funeral on Saturday, November 23, at 10 am at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home.
