JMG event showcases student leadership and community support: Students from the Jobs for Maine Graduates (JMG) program at Sanford High School (SHS) organized and hosted the first-ever Special Olympics corn hole tournament in the state of Maine. Seventy athletes from nearby schools and adult agencies came together to compete and celebrate the spirit of inclusivity. The tournament, which took place at Sanford High School, was organized and operated entirely by students, showcasing their leadership abilities and community commitment. Special Olympics officials have already extended an invitation for SHS to host the event again next year.
It’s time to sign up for spring soccer: Sanford Soccer registration is open for the Spring 2025 season. Kids of all skill levels are invited to join. Sanford Soccer offers local recreational teams for kids ages U5 to U14 as well as travel teams. FMI, and to register, go here.
SCA volleyball team visits State House: The Sanford Christian Academy girls’ volleyball team visited the Maine State Senate and House of Representatives this week. The visit celebrated the team’s back-to-back titles in the ACEL Christian School league and their 2025 state championship.
