Paul McCartney releases two new songs digitally in advance of issuing them on vinyl for RSD Black Friday

Paul McCartney released two new songs, titled “Home Tonight” and “In a Hurry,” as digital downloads and via streaming services Friday.

The tracks, which were recorded with producer Greg Kurstin during the sessions for McCartney’s chart-topping 2018 studio album, Egypt Station, also will be released on a previously announced limited-edition seven-inch-vinyl picture disc for the 2019 Record Store Day Black Friday event on November 29.

“Home Tonight” is a catchy mid-tempo pop-rock tune that’s reminiscent of McCartney’s work with his 1970s band Wings and some of his 1980s material. “In a Hurry” starts out with sparse, piano-driven section resembling a late-’60s Beatles song and proceeds to build to a more dramatic, rocking track augmented with strings and horns.

The vinyl “Home Tonight”/”In a Hurry” picture disc will be available exclusively at various independent record stores throughout the U.S.
