SHS singers shine at music festival: The Sanford Chamber Singers and Select Treble Choir from Sanford High School performed at the ACDA Adjudicated Festival held at Scarborough High School on April 25. Among the event’s highlights was a clinic conducted by an expert member of the choral community. Following their performances, the choirs underwent evaluations, a pivotal moment in any adjudicated event. The Select Treble Choir was awarded an “Excellent” rating for their performance while the Chamber Singers received a “Superior Distinction” rating, the highest honor for an ensemble. FMI, go here.

Your table is waiting: The SRTC Café, operated by the culinary students at the Sanford Regional Technical Center, is open for only a few more weeks. Reservations are still available for breakfast and a few remain for lunch. Make reservations here before it’s too late. If there are issues with the reservation system, leave a message at 207-206-1703.

Prom venue able to accommodate more SHS students: Sanford High School prom planners have worked with the prom venue, Spring Hill in South Berwick, and have found a way to accommodate all of the students currently on the waitlist. Students who still need tickets should email lworks@sanford.org or see Mrs. Works in person.

Sharing insights on coping skills and healthy friendships: Congratulations to Mattea Peters, Leah Lagueux, Kyla Robinson and Madi Dulle from Sanford Middle School for their initiative on Wellness Day, which took place before April vacation. They took the stage to share valuable insights on coping skills and nurturing healthy friendships with the third and fourth graders at Margaret Chase Smith Elementary School.

Preparing students to succeed in business: Nineteen students from Academy of Business at the Sanford Regional Technical Center competed in the annual Junior Achievement Titan Challenge (JA Titan) on April 11 at IDEXX Labs in Westbrook. This is a simulation-based event in which high school students compete as business CEOs in the cell phone industry, experiencing firsthand how an organization evaluates alternatives, makes decisions, analyzes the outcomes of those decisions, and then strategizes what to do next. With a focus on financial literacy and insights into the workforce, JA Titan brings business economics to life. Students work as teams to make financial decisions about production, marketing, research and development, and corporate social responsibility. This is when they see how every choice made in an organization relates to its future success. FMI, go here.

It’s time to order yearbooks: The deadline for ordering Sanford Middle School yearbooks online is May 30. The cost is $27.25.
