Irene D. (Roberts) Orino, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on June 12. Irene was born on June 23, 1938, in Sanford to Kerwin and Dorothy (Michaud) Roberts. The family moved to Rumford where she graduated from Stephens High and then earned her degree from Gorham State Teachers College, class of 1959. She went on to teach in Mexico, Maine, New York and finally at St Ignatius School, in Sanford. Irene and Daniel Orino were married in 1961 and settled down in Sanford to start a family, having two daughters, Lisa and Julie. She and Dan loved to dance and travel. She was an avid gardener, loved to read and spent summers with her family at Wilson Lake in Acton. She also volunteered her time at St. Ignatius and Holy Family Church setting up for events. Irene was predeceased by her husband Daniel in 2020, her parents, and her best friends Stella Dion, and Waydette Poitras. Irene is survived by her two daughters Lisa Orino and Julie Orino with significant other Duane Caron and three granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 24 at 10 am at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church with a graveside service to follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. Janet Lynn Pecoraro, 68, of Sanford passed away at her home on June 11. Janet was born Nov. 12, 1955, in Grand Island, Nebraska to Floyd and Elinor Peterson. Following high school, Janet moved to Massachusetts and began working at the former Boston Naval Shipyard, where she later met her husband, Raymond Pecoraro. Following the birth of their first child, Janet became a homemaker, eventually settling in Sanford, where she raised their four children and opened her home and heart to anyone who came to visit. Her welcoming smile and warm hugs will be remembered by all who knew her. Janet is survived by her husband of 46 years, Raymond Pecoraro, their four children, Jon Pecoraro, Caren Pecoraro, Amy Pecoraro and her daughter Cheyenne Bailey, Kyle (Kimberly) Pecoraro and their children Isaac, and Ephraim Pecoraro, her brothers Lee and James Peterson along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on June 21, at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 am on June 22. Doreen C. Perry, 68, of Sanford passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the early hours of June 9. She was born in Wolfeboro, NH, on April 16, 1956. She truly loved her family, was generous, kind and sometimes mischievous. She went above and beyond for those she loved. Anything she could do to help she would, with a smile, a smart remark and a coffee in her hand. Some of her favorite things, besides her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were her coffee, her favorite character Tweety bird, pink carnations, a good old cookout and going out to dinner with her daughter. She loved seeing the latest projects her son would create and talking on the phone with her mother. Doreen was tough and had an extraordinary work ethic. She really set an example. She made such a difference in many people’s lives. Doreen was predeceased by her mother Joan Davis, stepfather Lawrence “Papa” Davis, father Fred Sargent, and brother Larry Davis Jr. She is survived by her daughter Monica Khan, a son Chris Libby, a sister Kelly Boivin, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with a large extended family. Diane Lasante Fortier, 78, passed away on June 15. She was born in Sanford in September 1945 to Edgar and Etiennette (Langlais) Lasante. Diane was a kind and gentle person who was much more comfortable lifting others up rather than being the center of attention. Diane met her beloved husband, Bob, while still at St. Ignatius High School. They married after she graduated and were blessed with four children, Anne-Marie, Renee, Peter and Angela who were a source of pride and joy for them. Her 8 grandchildren were the light of her life. Diane was an excellent baker and made everything with a great deal of love. She was also an avid gardener, tending to her flowers and plants many hours each day. Diane held many jobs over the years and she retired as a toll collector at the Maine State Turnpike Authority. Diane and Bob wintered in Florida for many years, made several trips to Hawaii, traveled to Europe, and visited China. Diane is predeceased by her parents, her dear sister Paulette Forbes, her beloved son Peter, and her loving husband Bob. In addition to her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, Diane is survived by her brother Paul Lasante. A private ceremony will be held for the immediate family.
