Cyndi Lauper, Michael McDonald among artists who’ll perform at Carly Simon tribute concert in NYC this March
The initial lineup has been revealed for the recently announced star-studded tribute concert saluting Carly Simon, taking place at New York City’s famed Carnegie Hall on March 19, 2020.
Among the confirmed performers are Cyndi Lauper, Michael McDonald, former Fifth Dimension members Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., Darlene Love, Indigo Girls and Linda Perry. Also on the bill are Ben and Sally Taylor — Carly’s two children with ex-husband James Taylor — as well as James’ brother, Livingston Taylor. Additional artists will be announced soon.
In a video announcement, Simon reveals she’ll attend the show, which is dubbed “The Music of Carly Simon at Carnegie Hall,” although it’s not known if she’ll also perform.
“I hope that you’ll come and be there and sing the choruses from the audience the way I will be,” Carly says in the clip.
As previously reported, the concert is the latest in the series of annual tribute concerts organized by local entrepreneur Michael Dorf focusing on a single legendary artist and held at Carnegie Hall.
Concert proceeds will go toward various music-education programs for underprivileged children and young people.
General admission tickets are available at CarnegieHall.org and at the venue’s box office, while VIP packages can be purchased at MusicOf.org.
