Compiled by Rev. Susan Murphy

Aline Beauchesne of Sanford passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2025, at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth. She was 93 years old.

She was born in Canada in 1932 to Lucien and Germaine Cote. She grew up in Plessisville, Quebec. When she was 16, Aline and her family moved to Maine. She dedicated herself to learning the English language and attended local schools until earning her GED. Aline had a natural ease of making connections and quickly assimilated to her new life in the United States.

For many years she owned Sanford Sub Shop and enjoyed creating delicious food for her customers. Aline was a long-standing member of the Ladies of St. Anne and lifelong parishioner of Holy Family Church. She was a shining light with a big personality, and she will be missed by all. Aline loved life and loved people. She cherished time spent with family and friends. She found joy in cooking, entertaining, cross-country skiing, camping, traveling, and especially dancing.

Aline is survived by her four children, Gail Plante (Will), Lise Roy (Ken), Brian, and Lori Girouard (Mark), nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, her sister, Rita Bourque, and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held.
