The best that he can do: Christopher Cross to release career-spanning singles compilation

Christopher Cross, ‘All Right: The Worldwide Singles 1980-1988’ (Omnivore Recordings)

Christopher Cross fans are going to want to ride like the wind to their nearest record store to get his upcoming release.

All Right: The Worldwide Singles 1980-1988 is the first-ever compilation of the Grammy-winning artist’s ’80s singles, in the form they were originally heard on the radio. Due Nov. 14, the compilation is available as a two-LP set pressed on translucent pink and green vinyl and as a two-disc CD with 11 bonus B-sides. All the tracks will also be available digitally, some for the first time on streaming.

The package includes hits like “Ride Like the Wind,” “Never Be the Same,” “Sailing,” the Oscar-winning #1 hit “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)” and “Say You’ll Be Mine.” You can presave or preorder it now.

Fittingly, given Cross’ position as one of the foundational artists of yacht rock, the compilation’s liner notes were penned by Garrett Price, director of Yacht Rock: A Documentary.
