Here are some fun events that you can do with your family and friends right here in Sanford-Springvale.
Friday, November 21 you can attend the Sanford Elks’ annual Giving Trees and More event from 1:00 to 7:00 pm, go to the Wicked Premiere Pre-show at Smitty’s Cinema at 6:00 pm, and catch rising star Michael Corletto at River Junction Brewing starting at 6:30.
On Saturday, November 22, there’s a special Thanksgiving/Farmers’ Market from 8am-noon at Central Park, along with holiday fairs at the First Baptist Church of Springvale and Carl J. Lamb School. For outside happenings, you can participate in the Sanford Recreation Dept. Turkey Trot at the Memorial Gym from 9 am to noon, and the Margaret Chase Smith-PTA Turkey Trot from 12:30-2:30 pm. For all you “Swifties” out there, the Blank Space: Taylor Swift Tribute takes place at the Sanford Performing Arts Center at 7:00 pm.
Two events held on Sunday, November 23 are the Sanford Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest at SHS Competition Gym from10 am to1:30 pm, and for music lovers, renowned fingerstyle guitarist Doyle Dykes will perform a free show from 4:00 to 5:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Springvale.
The First County Food Pantry Thanksgiving drive-through Distribution is being held on November 24, 25 26 from 8 am to 3 pm.
Special offering on Thanksgiving Day: The Eatery at Cruisin’ Infusions with Gotta Be Frank Gourmet, is providing a free carry-out Thanksgiving Meal for those in need from 12-3 pm.
Following the holiday, the Agency on Aging’s Community Café is on the November 28 in Springvale, and Mill Towne Tavern hosts the band Cryin Caleb starting at 7:00 pm. The first annual McDougals Very Merry Market with activities, shopping and food will be held on Friday, November 28 from 12-6 pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9-5 pm at McDougal Orchards.
Events on Saturday, November 29 include Grayson’s Legacy Holiday Craft Fair at Memorial Gym from 9 am to 2 pm, and the Stevie Mac: Fleetwood Mac Tribute from 7 to 8:30 pm at SPAC. Wrapping up the month, on November 30 will be the Troop 327 Holiday Shopping Bazaar from 9 am to 2 pm at Memorial Gym, the Strafford Wind Symphony Holiday Pops at the Sanford Performing Arts from 3 to 4:30 pm, and the YMCA’s Babysitting Fundraiser offers services from 4 to 8 pm.
