Frances M. Cote, 84, of Sanford, passed away at her home on January 18, 2026. She was born on September 25, 1941, in Biddeford, the daughter of the late Guy and Lorraine (Violette) Couture. Frances grew up in Biddeford and attended local schools. For many years, she was employed as a nursing assistant in Kennebunk, where she dedicated herself to caring for others until her retirement at the age of 70. 

Frances had a lifelong passion for sewing, a skill she took great pride in. She loved spending time with friends at Frannie’s Mini Donuts in Sanford, and the Trafton Senior Center, meeting new dogs wherever she went, and her Tuesday coffee dates with her son Patrick. She cherished the time she spent with family. 

Frances was an empathetic, caring, and protective soul. She was known for her short stature, feisty spirit, loving heart and warmth. She leaves behind countless memories of kindness, laughter, and generosity. 

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Ronald Couture and her dog and best friend Max. Frances is survived by her children, Michael Cote; Rhonda (Eric) Hilton; Patrick (Garnet) Cote; her brother, Richard (Lucille) Couture; her sisters, Carlene Beaulieu, Violet Chasse and her four grandchildren.

Keith Robert Edmonds died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife and family on January 21, 2026, 3 days before his 71st birthday, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on January 24, 1955 in Rochester, NH to Janice (Hussey) Edmonds and A. Raymond Edmonds. 

Keith started school in North Berwick, but the family moved to El Pond in Sanford in 1964 and he graduated from Sanford High School in 1973. Keith excelled on the Track Team, was named MVP of the team his senior year, and held the school’s record for the Long Jump for several years. 

Keith and Paula were in the same class at Sanford High School and started dating at the end of their senior year. Following their college graduations in 1977, they married and became a team. Paula stayed at home for several years following the births of their two sons. They built a new home in Springvale where they lived and raised the boys for 35 years. Keith and Paula loved to travel and went on many memorable trips both in the United States and Europe. 

Keith started his career as an X-ray Technologist, having obtained an associate degree from the University of Vermont in Burlington in 1977. He first worked at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta and then at Goodall Hospital in Sanford. He was hired by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in North Berwick to x-ray jet engine parts in 1979. He earned a bachelors’ degree from Southern Maine and retired from Pratt & Whitney as a Supplier Quality Engineer in 2013. He then went back to work in 2014 at the same plant and retired permanently from Belcan Industries in 2019. Over the years, Keith worked part-time at several different restaurants and for his brother’s catering business as chief cook and bottle washer. He was always willing to pitch in and do whatever was necessary to help his friends and family. He was always present for his children and grandchildren whom he adored.  

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Paula (Keefe) Edmonds, his son Christopher (Mandy) Edmonds, his son Ryan (Angela) Edmonds; two grandchildren; his brother Paul (Charline) Edmonds; his brother John (Carolyn) Edmonds; his sister Marian Edmonds-Allen and her spouse, Tori Allen; and several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters in-law, and cousins. 

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Black Heald and Walker Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00 at North Berwick Congregational Church, 15 High St., North Berwick https://conroytullywalker.com  

  

Carol Ann Goodwin, 74, of Shapleigh, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, with loved ones by her side. Carol was born on November 7, 1951, in Sanford, the daughter of Raymond and Rose (Fawcett). She grew up in Sanford and graduated from Sanford High School with the Class of 1970. 

She was employed at several nursing homes, as well as at The Giant Department Store. She obtained her real estate license, in 1973, beginning a successful and fulfilling career that spanned more than 40 years. Carol worked with the Drown Agency, where she managed offices in Limerick and Sanford, then with the Masiello Group, managing the Sanford office for several years. She eventually retired alongside her husband, Gary, and together they enjoyed winters in Longs, South Carolina, while spending their summers at home in Shapleigh. 

Carol is survived by her husband and best friend of 56 years, Gary Goodwin; her son, Ronald Goodwin and his girlfriend Jamie Tatum; her brother, David Fawcett; her sister, Brenda (Steve) Wood; sisters-in-law Barbara Douglass, Margery Spears and Sally Goodwin; her brother-in-law, Philip; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the spring.  https://conroytullywalker.com 

 

Ann E. Lunny, 78, of Sanford, passed away peacefully at her home on January 17, 2026. She was born on October 14, 1947 in Sanford, the daughter of the late Chelsey and Virginia (Mooers) Stocker. Ann grew up in Shapleigh and attended Sanford schools, graduating from Sanford High School. 

She married the love of her life, Robert Lunny, in 1967 and together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage. Ann and Robert raised three boys and built a life centered on family, hard work and love. 

Ann had a lifelong love of learning and enjoyed taking various courses throughout her life. Her first job was at Ted’s Fried Clams in Shapleigh. She later worked at Millipore, served as Manager of Housekeeping at Village by the Sea in Wells, and in 2000 became co-owner of the Mousam Valley Motel, all roles she took great pride in. 

A devoted sports fan, Ann especially loved cheering on her boys and grandchildren, traveling around the country to support them. She was also a loyal Boston Celtics fan and treasured memories from four trips to Hawaii. Ann enjoyed genealogy, fishing, and spending time on the boat at Square Pond. An animal lover and admirer of nature, she especially adored cats and enjoyed watching all types of animals. Ann lived a simple life and found joy in life’s small pleasures.  Ann was known for her kind heart, gentle humor, and generous spirit. She was always willing to help those in need and was beautiful both inside and out.  

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Robert Stocker. Survivors include her beloved husband, Robert Lunny of Springvale; her children, Christopher (Liping) Lunny; Michael (Joielle) Lunny; and Eric Lunny of Springvale; her eight grandchildren; her brother, Warren (Virginia) Stocker; and several nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at Black Heald and Walker Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. https://conroytullywalker.com 

  

John “Jack” Thomas Zuk, 71, of Sanford passed away on January 24, 2026, after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born on December 21, 1954, to Stephen P. and Bernice F. (Sudol) Zuk in Beverly, MA and was a graduate of Danvers High School.  

Jack worked with his dad and brother building many homes. He was employed as manager for many years at the Lafayette Club, retiring from there in 2015. He was a member and also 17 years past president of the Sons of the American Legion, a member of the Arundel Eagles, Lafayette Club, Wolves Club, Springvale Social Club, as well as a member and beloved past bartender of the Sanford Elks Lodge, whose signature saying was “We don’t do that on Sunday!” 

He enjoyed watching all the New England sports teams and NASCAR races, relished hunting trips and trips to Las Vegas, Foxwoods, and Boothbay Harbor. His favorite trip was going with a few friends to Sturgis on his motorcycle. He was a friend to many and was only a phone call away when help was needed. He had a smile that was contagious even on your worst days. 

Jack is predeceased by his parents. Survivors include his sister Patricia (Andrew) Bolz; brother Stephen Zuk and his significant other Nicole of Sanford. A beloved uncle, he left four nieces and four nephews, and many great and great great nieces and nephews.
