Linda R. Baker

Linda R. Baker, a daughter, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the age of 77, following her battle with a long-term illness. She was a resident of Sanford nearly her whole life. Born in Lawrence, MA on June 12, 1948, Linda was raised in Sanford and educated at St. Ignatius parish schools.

Her innate desire to nurture and care for others defined her professional life. She dedicated herself to caring for the elderly and children, offering comfort and compassion to those most in need, and they called her “Mem,” a name that captured her warm giving spirit. In a profound display of devotion, Linda dedicated several years of her life to providing full-time care for her parents until their passing in 2007. As the eldest of eleven children, this role of caregiver was a natural extension of her nurturing character.
