Robert E. Tuttle Sr., of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1954, in Sanford, the son of Maurice and Arlene (Moulton) Tuttle, and remained a lifelong resident of the community. Robert attended local schools and graduated from Sanford High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Robert married Lora Ducharme in 1988, and they shared 38 years of marriage filled with love and devotion.
Robert worked for many years in the local shoe industry. He was a hardworking and dependable man who took pride in providing for his family. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sports on television. Those who knew him will remember him as a gentle, loving, kind, and sweet man who cared deeply for his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Maurice Tuttle; and his stepdaughter, Heather Hersey. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lora Tuttle; his children, Jessica Bickford and Robert Tuttle Jr.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, from 4 to 6 p.m., with a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m., at Black, Heald & Walker Funeral Home.

Cheryl “Cherry” Merrifield Young, 77, of Springvale passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 6, 2026, after a protracted battle with cancer.
Cherry was a 1966 graduate of Sanford High School, where she was a cheerleader for both the football and basketball teams. She graduated in 1970 from the University of Maine, majoring in history with a minor in art. She met her husband, Jeffrey, at the university, and the couple were married in 1969 at Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church.
Cherry was much loved by her family and friends. She was a member of Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church in Springvale, where she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Cherry loved traveling and fulfilled childhood dreams of seeing Milford Sound in New Zealand and riding a gondola in Venice.
Cherry is survived by her husband, Jeffrey T. Young; her son, Christopher (Manda) Young; her daughter, Janet (Connor) Draa; her grandsons, Joshua, Caleb, and Josiah Young; and her sisters, Kathy Cornish and Bonnie Dubois.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church, at a time to be announced.
