Cheering their achievements: All-star selections on the cheer team at Sanford High School have been announced. Mariah Provencher has been named an All-Star, and Bella Tounge and Arianna Martel have each received Honorable Mention.  

Pilot program for spring flag football is announced: Sanford-Springvale Youth Athletic Association (SSYAA) is launching a new co-ed Flag Football program this spring. Each weekly session will include a 45-minute practice followed by a 45-minute game. Practices will focus on skill development, fundamentals, and teamwork. The program will have three divisions: Grades 1 – 3, Grades 4 – 5 and Grades 6 – 8. Sign-up is open through April 10 with the season beginning the week of May 11. Register here. Email SSYAA at mlathrop@ssyaa.com with questions.

SMS and SHS sports registration: Spring sports registration is open for students at Sanford Middle School and Sanford High School. Middle school students can choose from Track (grades 6 – 8), Boys Lacrosse (grades 7 – 8), Girls Lacrosse (grades 7 – 8), and Baseball and Softball (grades 7 – 8). Spring sports for high school students (grades 9 – 12) include Boys and Girls Tennis, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Track and Field, and Baseball and Softball. Don’t delay in registering. Spring sports begin on March 30.
