Foghat, Sweet to perform at Bahama hurricane-relief concert in South Florida next week
A variety of well-known music acts, including Foghat and Sweet, are taking part in a special hurricane-relief charity concert called One Love Bahamas that will be held Saturday, February 8, at The Amp in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Other artists on the bill include Lita Ford, Jack Russell’s Great White, Zebra, Yngwie Malmsteen, reggae veterans Third World and Bahamian pop group Baha Men.
The show will benefit those affected in the Bahamas by the devastation of Hurricane Dorian last year. All of the proceeds raised by the event will be donated to the relief efforts, and the money will be used to buy such needed items as building materials and reverse osmosis units, which convert sea water into fresh potable water.
Tickets for the concert are available now at Ticketmaster.com. The event also will feature a Bahamian-themed market offering traditional cuisine, crafts and more.
In conjunction with the show, a memorabilia and collectible auction is being organized. People who want to donate money to the cause, or volunteer their time, can do so by visiting OneLoveBahamas.org.
One Love Bahamas is one of about 20 confirmed performances Foghat has lined up for 2020. You can check out the band’s full schedule at Foghat.com.
