Municipal Candidate Slate for November Election

Voters will choose among five candidates for City Council who have qualified to be on the November 4 municipal election ballot. Candidates are randomly drawn to determine their order on the ballot. The candidates in the order they will appear are:
- Gerald P. Gay
- Robert Stackpole (incumbent)
- Charlene S. Plante
- Peter Tranchemontagne (incumbent)
- Logan J. Laughlin
For all other open municipal seats, incumbents are running unopposed.
Melissa Simpson is running for her second three-year term on the School Committee. Jonathan Stimmell, who is currently filling a one-year vacancy, is now running for a three-year term.
Water District Trustee Melissa Alipalo is running for her second three-year term.
Two incumbents running to continue as trustees for the Sewer District are Gregory Ackroyd and Michael Fraser.
In person voting will be on November 4 at Sanford High School from 7am to 8pm. Voter entrance is door #41.
In person absentee voting will begin on October 6, 2025, or as soon as ballots are delivered from the printer, in the 3rd floor conference room at City Hall during normal business hours. The City Clerk & Registrar of Voters will hold extended office hours on Thursday, October 30th until 7 pm for the purpose of absentee voting, registering to vote or for voters who need to update their current voter record. This will also be the last day to request an absentee ballot.
