Students in the Sanford School Department’s BRIDGE Program elementary division traded their classrooms for the aisles of Hannaford in Sanford for a fun and educational field trip last Friday.
Every Friday is “Fun Friday” in the BRIDGE Program, and this one was extra memorable. Students explored the entire store from the produce section to the seafood department, sampling fresh strawberries, watermelon, cheese, mozzarella sticks, and cookies along the way. A crowd favorite was getting up close with the live lobsters in the tank.
Beyond the tasty treats, students had the chance to engage with Hannaford’s staff, ask questions, and learn firsthand how a grocery store operates.
The BRIDGE Program is dedicated to supporting students through personalized learning plans and collaborative goal-setting, helping every learner find their path to success. Hands-on experiences like this one bring that mission to life, and judging by the smiles on every face, it was a trip to remember.
