Due to some rain delays in June, the Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce ended up having a very busy July. They hosted a Business After Hours event at the Sanford Mainers, drawing 20 members to the game. They also hosted an UnPlug and Play networking night at Bowl-A-Rama, with two full teams of members attending.
The chamber had great success at their annual Bob L’Heureux Memorial Par-3 Tournament, raising over $3,200 for chamber programs. Congratulations to the Edward Jones team for their first-place win. The chamber also wrapped up their Weber griddle raffle that day, raising almost $500. Thank you to Eldredge Lumber for donating the griddle.
One business, Arcadia New England Health Care in Springvale, joined the chamber in July. The Ambassador Committee hosted one ribbon cutting, for Small Strides Benefits.
Chamber members have been busy planning their annual golf tournament on Aug. 14 at Province Lake Golf Course. They have also been actively planning AutumnFest, which will feature booths, activities, and a food court. The family-friendly community event will take place on Oct. 17, from noon to 4 pm at Number One Pond in Sanford. One more food vendor is needed.
On Aug. 25, the chamber is hosting a Business Power Hour from 8:30-9:30 am at Goodall Memorial Library. It is open to all local business owners and non-profit leaders who would like to bring their ideas, concerns, and updates to share, plan and grow together. Members will discuss community updates, business wins and concerns and plans, including the RAISE Grant and marketing, and collaboration opportunities. Registration is requested, but drop-ins are welcome.
On Aug. 27, the chamber is hosting its last UnPlug and Play of the season at the Sweat-Morin Homestead. There will be a short walk around the property near the house, as well as a brief history tour of the house and barn with Lawrence Furbish. Mousam Way Land Trust is hosting the program. Arrive by 5:30 pm for the tours. Treats and beverages will be provided. This program is free and open to the public. Registration is requested, drop-ins welcome.
The Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a positive business climate which best serves its membership and community through business retention and expansion.
