Community members and visitors are invited to celebrate local art, live music, and family fun at the final Sanford/Springvale Art Walk of the season next Friday, Aug. 14.

Running from 4 to 7:30 pm, the evening’s festivities will feature an array of interactive activities, local art, and live performances on the lawn beside the Springvale Library at 443 Main St.. Art activities include chalk art on sidewalks, a community canvas for on-the-spot creations, screen printing, tie-dye T-shirt making and demonstrations by fiber artists, spinners, knitters, and weavers.

A diverse group of artisans of all kinds will be showcasing and selling their unique handcrafted creations, making it an excellent opportunity to start picking up early holiday gifts.

Families can head to the church parking lot activity area, which will feature giant bubbles and life-sized Tetris blocks for interactive play. Attendees can also sample a variety of options from local food trucks while enjoying live music and poetry pop-ups throughout the area.

In addition to the Art Walk, live entertainment later in the evening will be available at Springvale Library’s Music After Hours, taking place from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on the library’s patio.
