The Sanford Springvale Chamber of Commerce hosted its 25th annual Golf Tournament, on a beautiful day at Province Lake Golf Course in August. Congratulations to the first-place team, Central Maine Power. Second-place winners were United Ag & Turf. Thank you to the dozens of businesses that sponsored this incredible event.
One business, Knots & Bolts Creating Co. in downtown Sanford, joined the Chamber in August. Several ribbon cuttings are in the works for September.
We’ve been touring some local facilities to expand partnerships. The first tour was at York County Community College’s Center for Excellence in South Sanford, where students train in manufacturing skills. The second tour was at York County Regional Training Center, where students train in emergency skills. Sanford is fortunate to have these facilities in its community.
Music on the Patio wrapped up recently, and the Chamber would like to thank the Springvale Public Library for their partnership with this 11-week event. The musicians they brought in were talented and the guests were engaged with the music each week – a true success!
The Chamber hosted a Business Power Hour at Goodall Memorial Library, drawing a dozen local businesses and organizations. Attendees received updates from the city and discussed marketing and collaboration opportunities.
The last UnPlug and Play of the season was at the Sweat-Morin Homestead. Guests took a tour of the historic house, barn, and nearby cemetery. Thank you to the Mousam Way Land Trust for hosting the program.
The Chamber is hosting an online tutorial on how to use Meta Business Planner to schedule social media posts on Facebook and Instagram. The program is on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from noon to 1 pm online. Register on our website to get the program link.
The Chamber has been planning AutumnFest, which will feature booths, activities and a food court. The family-friendly community event will take place on Oct. 17 from noon- to 4 pm at Number One Pond, rain or shine. One more craft vendor is needed.
