Beatlemaniacs can buy a piece of history at an upcoming auction in New York City when a sheet of paper containing Paul McCartney’s hastily scribbled notes for a studio recording of the hit song “Hey Jude,” as well as a wooden stage the Fab Four performed on in Liverpool, come under the gavel at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square New York. The stage and the lyrics are among 300 items of Beatles memorabilia being sold at the April 10 auction. Other items on offer will include shooting script for the band’s 1967 video for the song “Hello, Goodye,” an ashtray from Abbey Road recording studios that used by drummer Ringo Starr, and a drawing by John Lennon and Yoko Ono of “Bagism, a term the couple created to satirize stereotyping, that was featured in their 1969 Bed Peace documentary, which has a pre-auction estimate of $80,000 to $100,000.” The lyrics have an asking price of $180,000 while the stage is expected to sell for $10,000 to $20,000.
