Your Support Fuels Trusted Local News

If local news matters to you, please consider supporting us with a financial contribution. Every donation helps us deliver stories that matter, notices you need, and news you can trust.
In Sanford and Springvale, that means stories about your neighbors, your schools, and your city’s decisions — news that keeps you connected and informed. At a time when many newspapers are scaling back or eliminating their print editions, you’ve told us that having a printed newspaper in your hands still matters.
The Sanford Springvale News has become an important part of our community, and our readership is growing.
- 2,700 print copies are distributed to 60 locations weekly.
- 1,700 readers subscribe to our e-newsletter on Saturday mornings.
- 30,000 unique visitors access our website monthly.
- 8,500 people follow us on Facebook.
It’s now been a little over three years since we came together, and we’re still going strong. We operate with an efficient team of 25-30 dedicated volunteers who make this free newspaper possible. We keep our budget as tight as possible with only one contracted professional who serves as editor and production manager.
We’re deeply grateful to all donors, sponsors, and local business and municipal advertisers. This support has made it possible for us to grow and continue serving our community. The 2026 Annual Fundraising Campaign has a goal of $10,000 to be raised this summer.
We continue to see exciting growth in readership and are committed to sustaining this free community resource, but growth requires support. Please donate what you can.
Thank you.
